The Dog Days of Summer August Soap of the Month - Dog Shampoo Bar Pictured is Cleo is our livestock protection dog here on the farm. During the dog days of summer, Cleo tries to find a cool spot to rest where she can still see the goats she is protecting.
Our dog shampoo bar “Mrs. Pretty’s Pretty Bar” was inspired by Joe’s two-year old Australian Shepherd, Stella. When he'd walk her through town, people would comment on how pretty she was. She ate up the attention so much he began calling her Mrs. Pretty.
Mrs. Pretty would get pretty dirty. Bathing her with traditional dog shampoo was a nightmare. The detergents in traditional liquid dog shampoo (including the organic stuff) made it difficult to wash out of her fur, which dried her skin and made her itch. It wasn’t pretty.
So, we developed a dog shampoo based on our human goat milk soap. The result is Mrs. Pretty’s Pretty Bar – an all-natural, detergent free shampoo bar especially formulated for dogs.
