The Old Colony Co. is not your typical bath & body boutique. It does not sell brand names or imports. Rather it is making a brand name for itself that embodies regional artistic talent. The Old Colony Co. is setting out to transform the "buy local" movement through its "source local, buy local" approach, working with reigonal farmers, artists and cottage businesses to produce the goods it sells. All Old Colony products are either made in house, by a local artist or sourced from regional and national artists or producers sourcing raw materials from small, independent farms in the USA.

"We are putting a new twist on an old idea," said owner and New Market resident Joe Klingman who started the business out of his home in 2010. "Since colonial times, regional economies have been strengthened by networks of artisans, farmers and cottage industries working together to produce high quality, affordable goods for their communities. Our aim is to reinvigorate these networks by developing partnerships to create new and useful products for the Frederick area and beyond.”

The Old Colony Co. is the perfect place to find unique gifts this holiday season, offering an array of seasonal soaps and gift sets for the entire family including pets. “With each season we offer new soaps and skin care products as well as new works by our partner artists and crafters. We are very excited to be opening our store at the start of the holiday season, showcasing our seasonal goods and this region’s amazing talent, ” said Klingman.
